Textiles Are Love …

is the part of my practice where I work with others to transform their cherished textiles into treasured keepsakes. Memory vessels that mark the passing of time and celebrate our connections and heritage.

One of my earliest and most cherished memories centers around the gift of a small toy table loom. For days I sat patiently converting yarn into a red plaid scarf which I gave to my father. The scarf I created became more than the sum of its parts. It was alchemy, an act of love. This metamorphosis was the beginning of my passion for textiles. 

Textiles are Love. They are culture, history, art and technology, a vessel for our bodies and narratives. They protect us from the elements and help us to feel safe, beautiful and seen.

Through them we express our identities, ground ourselves and stay linked to those we love and those we have lost.

Have you ever slept in your beloveds T-shirt to keep them close by, or traveled with a favorite shawl, snuggling with it in a sterile hotel room to feel more at home? Then you know what I mean.
